Free 7-Day Prayer Guide

How to Pray for Evangelism and Revival for Seven Days

Updated August 24, 2026  ·  Hamilton, Ontario

You do not need impressive words to pray for evangelism. You need a willing heart, real names, and a simple rhythm that helps you keep showing up before God.

Day 1: Pray to be available

Begin with surrender: “Jesus, make me available today. Help me notice the person in front of me and respond with love.” Evangelism starts before a conversation. It starts when we release our schedule, preferences, and fear to God.

Take one step: Leave ten unhurried minutes in your day and ask the Holy Spirit to interrupt you.

Day 2: Pray for people by name

Write down three to five people already in your relational world—family, friends, neighbours, coworkers, classmates, or familiar faces. Ask God to bless them, reveal His love, and open natural opportunities for honest conversation.

Take one step: Send one person a sincere message of encouragement with no hidden agenda.

Day 3: Pray for courage

Courage is not the absence of nervousness. It is obedience while you still feel it. Ask God for the courage to offer prayer, share your story, ask a thoughtful question, or mention the hope you have in Jesus.

Take one step: Practise one sentence you can use naturally: “Would it be okay if I prayed for you?”

Day 4: Pray for compassion

Ask Jesus to help you see people rather than projects. Pray for patience to listen, wisdom to respect boundaries, and love that remains genuine regardless of how someone responds.

Take one step: Listen to someone without planning what you will say next.

Day 5: Pray for Gospel clarity

Ask God to help you speak about Jesus simply and faithfully. Pray that your testimony would point to Him, that unnecessary religious language would fall away, and that your words would meet the questions a person is actually asking.

Take one step: Review your three-minute testimony and make Jesus the clearest part.

Day 6: Pray for faithful follow-up

Moments matter, but relationships help people grow. Pray for the discipline to remember names, reconnect, answer questions honestly, and help interested people find Scripture, Christian community, and healthy next steps.

Take one step: Follow up with one person you previously encouraged or prayed for.

Day 7: Pray for multiplication

Pray beyond a single conversation. Ask God to raise up equipped believers, healthy outreach groups, disciple-makers, and churches that send people into everyday mission. Pray specifically for the vision to establish 100 multiplying outreach groups through Evangelize.World.

Take one step: Invite one other believer to pray and go with you this week.

What should happen after day seven?

Start again with real names and fresh attention. This guide is not a spiritual challenge to complete once; it is a repeatable rhythm. Keep the prayers simple, write down what God highlights, celebrate small acts of obedience, and stay connected to other believers who will encourage you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should Christians pray for evangelism?

Pray for availability, specific people by name, courage, compassion, Gospel clarity, faithful follow-up, and multiplication. Ask the Holy Spirit for one practical act of obedience instead of treating prayer as preparation that never leads to action.

What Bible passages can guide prayers for evangelism?

Helpful passages include Matthew 9:37-38, Acts 4:29-31, Colossians 4:2-6, Ephesians 6:18-20, Romans 10:13-15, and 1 Peter 3:15-16. Read each passage in context and turn its emphasis into a simple prayer.

How long should I pray for someone before speaking with them?

There is no required waiting period. Pray consistently, remain attentive, and respond when a respectful opportunity appears. Prayer should deepen love and dependence on God, not become a reason to avoid obedience indefinitely.

Can a church use this seven-day prayer guide together?

Yes. Churches, small groups, and outreach teams can use one focus per day, share specific names privately, celebrate acts of obedience, and gather at the end of the week to pray about ongoing outreach rhythms.
