Twelve Years on the Streets: What God Has Done in Hamilton
In 2014 we didn't launch a ministry. We just started showing up.
Love on Hamilton began with the two of us walking downtown with coffee and a simple question: "Can we pray with you for anything?" No stage. No strategy. No budget. Just a conviction that the people everyone walks past are the people Jesus walks toward.
Twelve years later, that walk has become something we could never have engineered.
What grew
- 20+ weekly outreach teams — ordinary believers who now go out on their own, every week, without us needing to be there.
- Love on The World — the same heart carried to more cities. You can follow that at loveontheworld.com.
- Overflow — launched in 2022, a Sunday evening service where the Holy Spirit was given full permission to move.
- A partnership with e3 Canada — equipping believers to evangelise and establish multiplying churches.
- The Jesus Festival — a free citywide gathering where thousands come together to worship and hear about Jesus.
What we actually learned
Faithfulness beats strategy
We have never once out-planned God. The seasons that produced the most fruit were the seasons we simply kept showing up when it was cold, inconvenient, and nobody was watching.
Practical love opens spiritual doors
Warm socks in February. A meal. A coat. A ride. Presence when someone is at their lowest. Meeting a real need earns the right to speak about a deeper one — and that order matters.
Nobody does this alone
Every single story of a life changed came through a body of people praying, giving, and showing up. Not one of them was a solo effort. That's not humility for its own sake — it's just what happened.
"And some fell into good soil, and grew up and produced a crop a hundred times as great." — Luke 8:8
The church is stronger than we give it credit for
When disaster hits, the local church is often already on the ground before any agency arrives. That conviction is why Kingdom Response exists — mobilising churches to respond fast and well.
Where it's going
We believe Canada is on the edge of the greatest revival it has ever seen. Not because of a mood, but because we keep meeting people who are genuinely hungry.
The Jesus Festival is one of the clearest pictures of that — a whole city gathering with no cover charge and no catch. There's a festival app for the day itself, and if you want a festival in your city, that's what Jesus Festival Movement is for.
Your part in it
If you've read this far, you're probably not a spectator by nature. There are three real ways to stand with us — and all three matter:
- Pray. Genuinely the most valuable thing anyone gives us.
- Come out. Join a team. Love on Hamilton goes weekly.
- Partner monthly. Monthly partners are what let us plan and go further. We pray for our partners by name, daily. You can partner here.
All for God's glory.
